A Little More Disney Magic at Animal Kingdom Lodge (June 2026)

I don’t even know where to begin with our most recent stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Every visit feels magical, like we’ve stepped into an entirely different world. From being greeted by name when we pull up to valet to seeing our family name displayed on the television in our room, it’s the little Disney touches that keep us coming back again and again.

This trip, we did something new: taking the elevator up to the fourth floor for an overhead view of the stunning lobby. We’ve admired the lobby countless times, but seeing it from above gave us a whole new appreciation for its beauty and grandeur.

Of course, we also revisited some of our favorite Animal Kingdom Lodge traditions, including stopping by to see the flamingos and giraffes. No matter how many times we visit, watching the animals never gets old.

Our room location was a little different this time, too. Instead of our usual area, we stayed one floor above the lobby with views overlooking the pool. It was fun experiencing a new perspective of the resort while still being conveniently close to everything.

As we wandered around the resort, we stumbled upon some incredible Cast Member creations. These unexpected touches of Disney magic always make exploring worthwhile and remind us just how much heart goes into every detail.

Food was another highlight of the trip. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at Boma and grabbed breakfast one morning at The Mara. We also ventured out for a bucket-list dining experience. After taking a bus to Hollywood Studios, we hopped aboard the Skyliner and made our way to Disney’s Beach Club Resort for a visit to Beaches & Cream. There, we finally tackled the famous Kitchen Sink sundae. It was delicious, over-the-top, and definitely more dessert than our family could reasonably handle—but that’s part of the fun!

Stay tuned for a post about our first visit to Jiko: The Cooking Place. I still can’t believe it took us this long to dine there!

Have you ever stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge? What’s your favorite detail, hidden gem, or must-do experience at the resort?
