Kid-Friendly Road Tripping

Repost from momma mommy bwuh.

As a traveling family, we know the journey is just as important as the destination. Whether we’re heading north for a mountain adventure or south for some sunshine, our time in the car is a big part of our vacations. To make these road trips more enjoyable for the boys and to keep our car in top shape, I decided it was time to elevate our travel game.

First on my list was upgrading our seat covers. The old ones wrapped around the seats and, while functional, often twisted out of place or came unclasped. They were also a hassle to remove, especially when I had an adult passenger who didn’t need a seat cover. The new covers I chose are a game-changer: they offer excellent protection for my bucket seats but can be effortlessly removed and reattached, making cleaning and adjusting a breeze.

Next, I added organizers to the backs of the seats. These handy accessories protect the lower part of the front seats from dirty feet while also featuring compartments where the kids can stash their favorite items for easy access.

Now for the major upgrades for the kids.

I also invested in some fantastic tablet mounts. I used to worry about the kids’ necks from hunching over their devices and their overall safety since they weren’t always seated properly. With these mounts, they can sit up comfortably and watch their shows without straining their necks. Plus, they might even doze off more easily since they’re not gripping their tablets.

Next, I added multi-purpose trays that fit snugly into any cup holder. These versatile trays are perfect for holding snacks and drinks, as well as toys, cards, and more! They’re a fantastic way to keep everything organized and prevent items from ending up on the floor or flying around the car.

I also picked up some seat belt covers. Since Boy1 has a habit of tipping over when he falls asleep, I wanted something to help keep him upright. These seat belt covers are soft and pillow-like, providing a comfy support for him to rest against while he drifts off.

What are some of your road trip must-haves?
